What are the chances of making a good acting career beyond 2011?

I've always wanted to be it and I think I have talent for it I just need classes and training but the way things are is it even worth it? I live in NY and go to a trade school taking automotive technician,to support myself.
What are the facts? I WANT to commit to it but want to know my chances

Honestly, the chances of ever making a living at acting are next to none. But you can be in community theatre and find out what sort of ability you have. Go for it and see.
