How do I clean the carpet gasolilne vehicle and get rid of the smell?
Some gas spilled in the back of my equinox, smells wrong.
Assuming you do not have a lot of liquid gasoline in the carpet is still the best option would be to use one of these "cleaner steam "type of carpet cleaner machines spray detergent into the carpet and vacuum up. If a large amount of liquid remains on the carpet, try to absorb with a dry towel before using the debugger. Another alternative would be to simply rub the area with a brush and a mixture of water and detergent, then take the remainder with a towel. Then dry the area with a fan, and / or park the vehicle in a sunny spot with the windows partially open. The heat and air flow should reduce the odor gradually over several days.

Diagnostic Scan Tools for Automobiles
Today's automobile manufacturers are going the hi-tech way, installing multiple gizmos to enhance the efficiency and comfort offered by their vehicle. As a car's internal systems get more complex, it is a challenge to extract diagnostic data to fix a problem that may arise. In such a situation, diagnostic scan tools come to the rescue. These tools are basically test equipment that connect to an automobile's computer processor and help pull out the required information from it.
A special feature of a diagnostic scan tool is that it can examine the on-board diagnostic information system (OBD-II), which manages the fuel economy, performance and timing of the vehicle. It is the OBD-II that helps the government keep a watch on the fuel emissions of all civilian vehicles. A diagnostic scan tool connects to this OBD-II and returns error codes if the automobile contains abnormalities. These codes help trained mechanics to identify what exactly is causing the issue.
This brings us to code readers, basic hand tools that access and display codes from the automobile's computer. Typically inexpensive, they act as the first step from where diagnosis can begin. For a vehicle owner, code readers are the best diagnostic scan tools to know when it is time to pay a visit to the mechanic.
More advanced diagnostic scan tools display sensor values, system data and conduct self-tests such as testing fuel pump, EVAP leaks, A/C compressor clutch, etc. They fall in two main categories: PC-based and PDA-based.
Typically, the former have large screens and in-built diagnostic software that can be easily updated. They can erase stored diagnostic information, display real-time parameters, record data and also offer customized graphs and printable reports. In addition, PC-based diagnostic scan tools can access manufacturer-specific data.
They also cost much lesser than their stand-alone, PDA-based counterparts, which, in spite of providing the benefit of portability, offer only minimalistic functionality. On the other hand, the more professional of PDA-based hand tools have better, color displays and also allow data to be captured for later analysis. They are also relatively simpler to use and cost lesser.
Diagnostic scan tools are available in a range of prices and sizes and contain software that can be easily upgraded. For DIY enthusiasts, an advanced hand-held tool can save time and money spent in visiting mechanics.
Unlike in the past, diagnostic scan tools have become very affordable and portable over the last decade or so. Thus, even for owners of shops offering repair and maintenance for vehicles, they prove invaluable. All the shop owner needs to do is select one that matches his requirement and budget and then train his mechanics to use it to their advantage.
