how to become a teacher when you already have a degree?
I am considering a career change. I am currently a quality engineer working for an automotive supplier and I feel that this is not my race. My second choice in college was to become a teacher. Currently I have a BA Industrial Engineering Technology. What courses and the time it would take for me to become a high school teacher in Michigan? Thanks for any and all help.
You need to find the website of the state agency that oversees teacher certification. My state agency called the State Board for Certification Educators. The answer to this question can be found at the website or by contacting the office. What happens in my state is going through a certification program called alternative. Applications are accepted in March, training begins in April, starting a paid teaching position in August, and the program will follow up through its first year. It is one of the best decisions I ever made.
